The Lack of Meetings Could Have Improved Airport Terminal Services

Airport terminal buildings serve the purposes of pre and post-journey checking. Lounges are provided for passengers to wait. Aircrafts are guided by controllers via radio. The controllers in the control tower notify pilots of traffic at the airport and weather conditions. Inefficient and redundant billing processes have been cited as reasons for the problems. ATS's fueling procedures were not reviewed

In the court's opinion, the plaintiffs' allegations are compelling, but ATS's response is weak. ATS contends that they were not required to review the fueling procedures of its subsidiary because they lacked the necessary training and equipment. Despite these facts, Midcoast's omissions to review ATS's fueling procedures were fatal, and they violated the law. The court's ruling, however, reflects Midcoast's lack of care in this matter and reflects its indifference to the consequences.

ATS did not have regular meetings with airport officials about ATS operations

In a recent hearing, an ATS officer testified that he was not briefed by airport officials about the ATS operations and safety procedures. This is concerning because airports should review fueling procedures and equipment before they allow any fueling activity to occur on their property. But the airport failed to do so, causing an incident and a significant amount of damage. This case is yet another example of ATS's failure to follow its own procedures and policies.
